Natural extracts & multifunctional blends

ACI has sourced natural ingredients from across the globe; from the rolling hills and dales of Yorkshire in England, to the South Seas, from Eastern Europe to the Far East. If you’re thinking about a new ingredient with specific provenance, have a chat with us and if it exists, we’ll find it.

Almost all ingredients can be multifunctional, herbs and spices particularly so. Sage extract, for example can function as an astringent, an antioxidant, a skin conditioner and protector, and additionally has soothing and tonic properties. Parsley has skin conditioning and tonic properties, Rosemary is both refreshing and tonic and Thyme also has skin conditioning properties.

Willow bark extract is astringent, hair and skin conditioning, and tonic as well as being a wonderful natural source of salicylic acid.

Many of these ingredients also possess natural antimicrobial activity and when blended together all of these functions can be optimized.  Corn sugar is used to provide a naturally-derived emollient that also augments the antimicrobial properties. The resulting blends can be used to formulate products in which the use of synthetic preservatives is reduced or in some cases, eliminated.
